Note: The ornamentation used for these pages is in the Gothic pattern. This Gothic era, beginning in the 1200's, evolved from theRomanesque style. It is a style that relied on leaves as an ornament but the ornament never conceals or overtakes the function. Most of the plates are taken from The Styles of Ornament by Alexander Speltz from Dover.
