The People

Above are Laurie and Peggy, Peggy and Gene, Nadja and Peggy, Hubert and Peggy. Below are Anna, Celine, and Eric. Nadja from Russia joined us in Paris. A young woman we met in the USA 16 years ago and now, 16 years later, we found her to be the same spirited, beautiful, straight forward, thoughtful and mature person.

Laurie, Hubert, Anna, Celine, and Erick welcomed us into their home with kindness, good company, good food, a good bed, good touring of many beautiful sites, good humor, a lot of energy, and even turning over a bit of manure for the family garden.

Then there is the pleasant fellow at Luxemborg Gardens who had bought a model sailboat to entertain his grand children but now enjoyed coming to the pond there where he sailed it himself. The opera singer and pianist in a small restaurant where the singer kindly played April In Paris for us.Young lovers in Castres. At Resto Jazz in Toulouse we heard the Remi Panossian jazz trio. No cover but at least a dessert at $15 is required. Muscians in the Metro as well as kind people in a rush, still taking time to look after us as we navigated the sometimes complex grid. Evening crowds in Paris. One train rider reading Alice in Wonderland warmly helped us understand the schedule board in English and then, on the train, the fellow who kindly led the way when we were to go off board at Beziers.

We heard a pianist at the American Church in Paris. A bride emerges from City Hall in Toulouse. . A fancy macaroon cookie place, Laduree,on the Champs Elysses. Hustle on the Metro. A genuine French Chef in Fontvieille. The antique dealer where we bought a "genuine antique" desk bell.
